A new year usually marks a new beginning and, in the art world, the start of a new trend. It seems apt, then, for us to start 2017 with a blog about Pantone's new colour of the year... Greenery!
Each year, US corporation Pantone - renowned for their standardised colour matching system - chooses a shade to symbolise the 12 months ahead. The choice is designed to provide a snapshot of the world around us, with Greenery ('a fresh and zesty yellow-green shade', according to Pantone) representing new beginnings, the great outdoors and the need for us to take a step back from the 'tumultuous social and political environment' and reconnect with the natural world around us.
The first months of the new year are a perfect time for you to revamp your interior decor, so why not embrace the 2017 colour of the year and introduce some green into your home? A simple way to do this of course is to add a few pot plants to your home to really bring the outside in...
And if you're really feeling the colour green, perhaps you'd like to take a look at one of our vibrant canvases to spruce up a wall - Indy Rush contrasts green with grey to create a dreamy rush of colour, while Marea Haze's exotic purples and greens will offer a talking point wherever you decide to place it.
